Her Story

July night 1992

She looked up the dark night sky and wondering what were those sparkle dots doing up there. Could it be a lamp? or million diamonds put by God far-far away on the sky?. Surely it is beautiful.

Another night on July 1992

That little girl still starred at the night sky. Now she even looked more happy. She thought she found the so-called Orion. She wondering whether she can find a friend to play with up there.

November 1998

The little girl has grown becoming  young girl now.  That day she was excited, she found a book written by A. G. Admiranto, talking about the star system she lives on, some  nearby stars and galaxies. She still imagining that one day she can fly away  visiting other star. That would be cool, she thinks.

March 2001

She compiled some article from newspaper. She clipped the article in old scratch book that her father gave to her. Her eyes sparkle every time she found a new astronomy article. I think I want to be an astronomer one day, she whisper to herself holding tightly the book.

August 2002

I wanna have a telescope. But.., it seems that I can not afford it now or in the near future. I will be an astronomer you see. She said that to me and smiled.

October 2003

She learns that astronomy speaks the language of physics and mathematics. I hate physics and mathematics. But I love astronomy. I guess I will learn to love them as well.

November 2008

Have been rejected by many summer schools and graduate schools. One entry on her note book. She thinks she wont make it to be an astronomer.

November 2010

She is still walking on that path last time I saw her. Writing a letter to a graduate school. She said, last night she remembered the first night she fall in love to astronomy. And that makes her happy.

May the Force be with you always :) .
